Debut Novel: Carly's Promise
Genre
"Carly's Promise" is a contemporary middle grade novel told in dual POV with strong STEM elements.
Inspiration
I wrote "Carly's Promise" to use story as a membrane, transferring science concepts through osmosis; offering comfort that (at the atomic level) all living things go on.
Overview
This coming-of-age novel straddles the physical and metaphysical worlds as it explores key themes of transformation, resilience and acceptance through the perspective of a human girl and a personified atom.

People-pleasing teen, Alexandra Woodson, and particle-pleasing atom, Carly Carbon, learn to adapt their ways as they struggle to find paths to reunification.

When her parents split-up, Alexandra's Operation "Get My Family Back," journey begins. In a parallel plane, Carly is tasked by Alexandra's late grandmother to look out for her well-being. These two journeys collide when Alexandra faces a critical illness leading each to find and trust her inner voice.
